Shooting with bob 3/11/10

I’m back! Sorry that I’ve been gone forever, but I’ve been whoring my work around town which has caused me to have no great adventures to share with you guys. Luckily, I was called in to work with commercial/print professional photographer, Bob Grigg. Bob actually use to be one of my teachers when I was in film school and I was pretty stoked when I found out that I was actually going to be working with him on a shoot…

photo-on-2010-03-11-at-10-22 Though I don’t consider myself a photographer at all, I do have a pretty solid understanding of lighting and setting up some equipment. Bob was stoked when he found this stuff out about me, he originally just needed a grip to do basic stuff(lighting, carrying heavy stuff, and break down set). He was even more stoked when I was able to set-up his pocket wizards, his Canon 1D with tethering in aperture, and assist him during the shoot. I kinda turned into the go-to computer-geek-techguy for the shoot.

img_2133 I was having tons of fun setting up lights and Bob’s camera to tether so we wouldn’t have to pop out his memory card into the computer to preview the pics.

img_2105 Once I was done setting up, I started playing with the bears for a bit… They both wanted to sleep waaaay more than play :/…

img_2106 I then wandered around his place for a bit(aka my future place…).

img_2113 Did you know that Bob is one of the main photogs for Hell’s Angels? Well he is, and I think that’s AWESOME!

img_2162 The was going incredibly well!

img_2169 My film school buddy, Tracy, was also there! She works with Bob regularly. Tracy was the one who actually got me the job, thanks again!!!

img_2170 After the successful shoot, Tracy and I met up with Jade(she works for the Jonas Bros., wah1?!?) and chatted it up for a bit. It was all fun.

It was awesome to have another productive day. Definitely looking forward to more set work in the future. Check out more pics after the JUMP!

Peace 2009(09 wrap up)

I never really “look back”, I always keep looking forward and make sure I head in that direction as well. Writing this post has forced me to look back into my past adventures and experiences… Wow, I’m forever having a great time, and that’s what life should be about, right? 2009 was another epic year for me. I’m a 19 year-old in Los Angeles who runs around the city meeting amazing people, working on projects, learning(the hard and easy way), teaching others, and forever doing everything with a smile. I love life and I refuse to have any regrets. Now, Let’s get started with the highlights of my 2009….

Djing the weekend

One of my new found hobbies is DJing. No, you won’t see me spinning at a club in Hollyhood or at your bestfriends wedding, but I usually end up DJing house parties or even photoshoots.

Saturday night I spun at a house party in the valley, thanks to Mike. I encountered several drunkards requesting stuff from Britney Spears to Drake. One thing that really annoyed me is when some dude claiming to be into sound production and ‘knowing’ how to read the waveform on the track kept begging to dj… I let him and he failed, miserably.

Sunday, we drove out to Silverwood Lake for the photoshoot. The shoot was seriously located in the middle of nowhere.

Mike’s loving the manikin.

My homie, Rony, was actually doing the photoshoot. I had no idea that he was apart of this until we got to the area.

It was all fun. DJing in the middle of nowhere.

After the photoshoot was over, we headed over to the lake to chill out a bit before heading out to LA.
