I may have gone on a pretty ridiculous mission to get the new Retina iPad mini that Apple made quietly available today. It all started when I was in my office and my coworker, who is also an Apple fanboy, convinced me that we should pick up our minis. We called around to multiple stores, but they were all sold out. Using the Apple Store app we were able to find a store that still had the mini in stock. Unfortunately, it was the Apple Store all the way in Thousand Oak that was holding our tablets hostage. On our lunch break we took the 45 minute mission to retrieve our iPads, it was definitely worth every mile.
This would be my second iPad I’ve owned. I received the iPad 2 for my 21st birthday 2 years ago and haven’t stopped using it until now. The retina iPad mini blows my previous tablet away! The mini looks, feel, and interacts better than my previous one. I was pretty astonished how much more I enjoy apps like Tumblr, Alien Blue, and Twitter on the mini’s display, since I downgraded from the iPad 2’s massive 9.7 inch display. Though the screen is smaller in size, it’s still packing a retina display which makes the content you’re viewing pop. With it being more mobile than it’s big brother, I can now incorporate it fully with my daily routine without hesitating if I really want to lug around a 1.4lb device. I’m really looking forward to using the mini to it’s full potential.
Pictured below is my Graphic Supervisor credit from the BET Hip Hop Awards. Couple months back we(Cashmere Agency) got word that we would be producing some content for the show. I made some motion graphics stuff that made the final cut and I couldn’t be more stoked off of it. VMAs next year?
Last weekend I geeked out harder than I have ever geeked out in my LIFE! My buddy, Brittani, who’s an I.T. for The Simpsons, invited me to attend to The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XXIV Premiere Party, which took place in Hollywood at The Roosevelt…
Upon our arrival, we were all issued awesome Simpsons badges to grant access to the event. Gonna keep this forever!
We got inside just in time to catch Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons, announce the 24th episode of Treehouse of Horror.
After laughing our ass’ off, we partied it up with other peeps that worked on the show and had a blast! There was poker, live dancers, open bars, awesome food(mini tacos!!!), and a GIF photo booths!!!
It was about a week and a half ago when I was on the phone with R&B singer, Macy Gray. She sounded like she was in a hurry and had a million thoughts going through her head, I was also in the same position because I couldn’t believe I was on the phone with the artist who sung the theme song to Nickelodeon’s “As Told By Ginger“. Her manager had put me on the phone with her to flush out some final ideas for her performance at Java Soulnation Festival, which took place all the way in Jakarta, Indonesia. I was building out stage content for her set and needed some extra direction to finish up some clips to send out.
Macy was stoked on the results, which made me stoked that my work was going to be all the way in Southeast Asia! I was sent pics from the festival a couple of days ago, check them out below!
Though the Arctic Monkeys had 3 sold out shows in Los Angeles at the Wiltern, I was able to catch a secret show at the Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ thanks to my job.
The english group played an intimate set that mostly consisted of songs from their most recent album, “AM.” It was a rewarding performance even though every girl was howling at the lead vocalist, Alex Turner, throughout the show.
