My 2nd year at Coachella was beyond AMAZING! Why? Well, I went with a company(Zodiac USA) whom took care of me the whole time, I did visuals for Jason Bentley’s Coachella set that thousands of people saw, and I was around tons of great people and awesome music. This is my experience at Coachella Music & Arts Festival, check it out…
About 4 days before said event, I received an email to see if I could work on visuals for Jason Bentley’s set at Coachella. I was beyond stoked for this amazing opportunity.. My work, at Coachella.. In front of TONS OF PEOPLE?!?! WHAT!! So immediately I started working my butt off on my computer a day before I left for the desert.
After packing and making tons of calls/emails to make sure I had a ticket and a way to get to Coachella, I was then on my way to a jam packed weekend filled with adventure.
I rode up to the desert with my friend Lauren & friends. Before driving a couple of hundred miles, we stopped to get some grub for the trip. Lauren and friends got tons of food… I bought nothing. This was also their first Coachella, so they were just being more than prepared.
I stayed in a pretty baller Airstream that was provided by Zodiac USA(the company I was working for during Coachella).
Had a couple of friends chill for a bit.
Then it was time for some Coachella!
One of the first performances I saw was Wale. He was kinda late and his performance was a bit short, but it was all fun.
It gets pretty hot in Indio, where Coachella is held, so it’s kinda hard not to play in the water.
One of my favorite performances at Coachella was Jay Z. I’m not the hugest fan of rap, but Jay Z is a great artist and a great performer. He even invited Beyonce out to perform Forever Young with him, they have a crazy bond.
EROL Alkan had a pretty legit set that I raved out to.
This was one of the hugest highlights for me while I was at Coachella. About 4 days before the event, I was asked to do Jason Bentley’s visuals for his set that was on Saturday. I was BEYOND astonished when I found out that the work I did was going to be displayed in the Sahara tent in front of tons of people!!! Being 19, this is probably one of the biggest things I’ve done yet!!!
Rachel came over to the tent just because she heard my stuff was going to be up there. Thanks buddy!
It was crazy! Super thanks to Saam Gabbay(creative director) who linked me up with Jason Bentley. Also, thanks to Brien Rullman and the whole visual team in the Sahara tent. I really appreciate everything!
After I left the Sahara tent, I ran into Rusko and we had a little chat for a bit.
Brett(Crooks & Castles) and Keith were my main homies throughout the trip.
Major Lazer was kinda really epic! Skerrit Boy was flying around everywhere(kinda scared me).
Die Antwoord.. Fawkin’ Zef…
These giiirls.
Sleepyheads.
These two(Desirae and Melissa) are AMAZING!! We worked together the whole time(including Keith). Couldn’t have asked for a better group to work with! <3 Zodiac USA crew!
I ended my Coachella with tons of friends, running around, and dancing all night! Coachella 2010 was another great learning experience for me, I can’t wait for next year!
The next morning Rony and I had a video/photo shoot for Zodiac USA. We were all burnt out, but we killed the game. It was an awesome way to end our trip.
CHECK OUT MORE PICS AFTER THE JUMP!!!
