Skins season 4 – katie

Here’s the latest episode of Skins!!!

Golden reel awards 2/20/10

Nothing makes me feel more like a “business man” than ending my trip to SF early to rush back to LA for a huge award show that I worked on. If you follow me on Twitter, you would know that I’ve been working-working with the Motion Picture Sound Editors. I’ve been busy digitizing and editing together tons of nominees for their award show. If you don’t remember, I also did work for the event last year. It’s been a busy couple of weeks for me, but it all paid off. My day started with me 30,000 feet in the air…

img_1324 I never really go flying at all, so I was SUPER stoked to be on a plane. Virgin is awesome!!!

It was a very short flight, but it was definitely a long enough flight for me to use in-flight wifi(It’s AWESOME!!!). Once I landed back in LA from SF, it was time to get ready for the Motion Picture Sound Editors’ Golden Reel Awards.

img_1332 The event was packed full of people in the “industry”, I was geeking out so muuuch!!!

img_1375

img_1377 I was actually mostly geeking out because ^^THIS^^ guy(Steven Spielberg) was watching my work…

img_1378 I don’t think you understand… STEVEN SPIELBERG WAS WATCHING MY STUUUUUUUFF!!! What?!?!?! That’s craze!!! *goes to clean pants*…

img_1358

img_1385

img_1372 Had a great time enjoying the event with my film peeps, definitely a night I’ll never forget!!

img_1390 I just gotta toot my own horn one more time :D . Whoopi = Ashten Winger = CREDITS!!!

SF with bootsy 1/19/10

So right now I’m laying in bed and watching some House. That may sound boring and mellow, but mind you, I had an epic past couple of days. Actually, I left LA to party it up in San Francisco with my friend Bootsy. Craze stuff went down in the bay…

img_1110 On the way to San Fran, Bootsy and I were stuck in the worst traffic EVER!!! There was an epic accident that made traffic come to a complete stop. Bootsy was crazy/smart enough to turn the vehicle around and peace it towards traffic(ON THE FREEWAY!!!). Surprisingly, it all worked out and we bypassed the accident.

img_1114

img_1120 When I arrived to SF, I dropped by USF to say hi to some peeps I knew there.

img_1173 One of the first places I visited with Bootsy was his old shoe store Harputs(Harputs Market). If you grew up in the area, you would know that Harputs was the main stop shop for footwear(mostly Adidas).

img_1137 Unfortunately, I only got to explore the store when it had been closed up and cleaned out.

img_1180

img_1182

img_1189 After browsing around the shop, I was taken to the House of Nanking. I was actually told that it’s one of the top Chinese food spots in all of SF. Bootsy had ordered tons of food for us to devour. I must say, the House of Nanking is definitely one of the best Chinese food places I’ve ever been to… EVER!!!

img_1234 We then did some gallery hopping all around.

img_1302 Once we were done roaming around the city, we hit up a Levi’s X Opening Ceremony launch party at the Levi’s SF flagship store(it’s huge!!).

img_1286

img_1260

img_1305 There were TONS of designers/artist/geeks around, I knew none because everyone was a known SF person… and I’m from LA :/…

img_1284 New Friend!!!

img_1272

img_1269 I was actually surprised when I found out that Wallpaper was performing, he killed it! <3 live performances.

img_1302 SF was super fun. I used my trip more as a learning experience and how life up north compares to my life in LA. Super thanks to Bootsy who drove me around everywhere, shared his knowledge, got me into places, and who invited me over. you’re awesome, man!!!

Valentines with eddie 2/14/10

I’m pretty much a scrooge during Valentines day(well recently), but I’ll never let a holiday that I’m not too fond of stop me from having fun. I started my Valentines around 1:30am while leaving temporary spaces…

img_0990 After tearing up the dance floor, Sasha and I realized that we haven’t gotten our moms gifts for Valentines day yet. We then mashed over to the nearest CVS drugstore and made sure to grab something to present to our moms when we got home.

img_1002 Afterward we hit up Jerry’s off of Beverly to grab some grub

[SinglePic not found]At night after work, I met up with some I.C.F. film school peeps at  the A.C.E.(American Cinema Editors) Eddie Awards. This was my second time being invited and attending this award show.

[SinglePic not found]My homie Morgan Freeman was in the house to present an award. You think his voice sounds amazing in movies and shii?!? Well, he sounds A LOT better in real LIFE!!!

[SinglePic not found]The night ended with Michelle Rodriguez and I kicking it and conversing about her working with James Cameron in Avatar… Ok, I’m lying… She was actually my Valentines date for the show, that’s all…

[SinglePic not found]It was good times at the Eddie Awards this year, met tons of great people that reminded me why I love being an editor so much! Check out MORE pics after the JUUUMP!

What i’m doing pt.2

What am I doing lately?!? Hmm, good question!! For the past couple of weeks I’ve been balls-deep in Final Cut Pro>Log and Capturing tons of footage for a huge award show that’s NEXT weekend. That USUALLY doesn’t take long, but I was recently given the job to edit the clips that I captured(what?!? responsibility and stuff!). Super excited! Also! This weekend I’m going to an award show for the film editors who’ve worked on every blockbuster you’ve seen in 2009, it’s going to be fun stuff! As everyone knows, when I’m not working at a computer store or freelancing in an office, I’m usually at an event in LA. Instead of enjoying nightlife, I chose to stay in with friends(Sasha, Jordan, and Richard) and have a meaningful night making(I helped a little) and eating dinner…
